Terms & Conditions

Effective 21 September 2026

These terms apply to your use of foxinthesawdust.com and to every order you place with Fox in the Sawdust. Placing an order means you accept them.

Who we are: Fox in the Sawdust LLC, 2692 S Yellowstone Hwy Suite 101, Rexburg, ID 83440 · (208) 360-6348 · [email protected]

1. Quotes and pricing

A written quote is valid through the end of the calendar month in which it is issued. A quote issued on the 3rd is good until the end of that month; a quote issued on the 30th is good until the end of that day. After that we will re-quote at current lumber and material costs.

Prices shown on the website are estimates for the configurations described. Final price depends on dimensions, species, base style, finish and delivery location. Prices do not include sales tax or delivery unless stated, and delivery is always shown as its own line.

2. Orders, deposits and payment

An order is placed when you approve a written quote and pay the deposit. Your place in the build schedule is set by the date we receive the deposit.

A deposit of 50% of the order total, before tax and before delivery charges, is due when you place your order. The deposit pays for lumber, hardware and shop time we commit to your piece immediately.

The balance is due before we deliver or release your furniture. We do not deliver or release furniture that has not been paid in full.

3. Cancellation and refunds

You may cancel for a full refund within 24 hours of placing your order.

After 24 hours, your deposit is non-refundable and no refund is available. Within one day of your order we begin committing lumber, shop time and schedule space to your piece, and that commitment cannot be undone or resold — everything we build is made to one customer’s specifications.

If you cancel after 24 hours, you forfeit the deposit and owe nothing further.

4. Your furniture is made for you

Everything we build is made to order, to your specifications. Custom furniture cannot be returned or exchanged. If something is wrong with what we built, that is a warranty matter — see our Warranty page and call us.

5. Changes to your order

Tell us as early as you can. Changes to dimensions, species, base style or finish are accommodated where production allows and may change the price and the lead time. Changes requested after we have cut material may require new material at your cost. All changes must be confirmed in writing — a text or email from us confirming the change is enough.

6. Lead times

Every lead time we give you is an estimate, not a guarantee. Handmade furniture, lumber availability, drying time, weather and finishing all affect the schedule. We will keep you informed. We are not liable for losses caused by a delay, and a delay is not grounds for cancellation outside the terms in section 3.

7. Natural characteristics of solid wood

Solid hardwood moves with temperature and humidity. Grain, color and figure vary from board to board and no two pieces are identical. Our Cosmetic Standard describes what to expect. These characteristics are what handmade solid wood furniture is, and they are not defects.

8. Delivery and risk

Delivery terms, fees, scheduling, inspection and damage claims are on our Delivery & Setup page, which forms part of these terms. Title and risk of loss pass to you on delivery, or on pickup if you collect the furniture yourself.

9. Storage

If your furniture is finished and you are not ready to take delivery, we will hold it free for 30 days from the date we tell you it is ready. After that, storage is $20 per day, payable before delivery. We can hold furniture for a maximum of six months, after which we may sell it and apply the proceeds to what you owe.

10. Warranty and disclaimer of other warranties

Our limited warranty is on our Warranty page and forms part of these terms. It is the only warranty we give.

Except for the limited warranty expressly stated on our Warranty page, Fox in the Sawdust LLC makes no warranties, express or implied, and specifically disclaims all implied warranties including the implied warranty of merchantability and the implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose.

11. Your remedy, and limits on our liability

If a covered defect appears, your remedy is repair, replacement, or refund of the purchase price of the affected piece, at our option. That is your exclusive remedy.

We are not liable for incidental or consequential damages — including lost time, lost profits, storage or transport costs, or the cost of alternative furniture. Our total liability arising out of any order will not exceed what you paid for the furniture in question.

These limits do not apply to claims for personal injury, and nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under Idaho law.

12. How we communicate with you

By giving us your phone number you agree that we may call and email you about your quote and your order. Text messages require your separate consent — see our Text Message Terms. You can withdraw consent to marketing calls, texts or emails at any time without affecting your order.

13. Our use of AI

We use AI tools to help draft messages and organize our work, and we may offer an automated assistant on our website and in our messaging. If you are interacting with an automated assistant rather than a person, we will tell you, and you can ask at any time. A person at Fox in the Sawdust is responsible for what we send you. You can always reach a person at (208) 360-6348. See our Privacy Policy for detail.

14. Website content

Photographs on this website show real pieces we have built. Because every piece is made individually from solid wood, the piece we build for you will not look exactly like the photograph. Species, finish, grain and color will vary. We try to keep prices and descriptions accurate but may correct errors at any time, including after an order is submitted online — if a correction affects your order we will contact you before proceeding.

All photographs, text, designs and logos on this site belong to Fox in the Sawdust LLC and may not be used without our written permission.

15. Governing law, venue, and attorney fees

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Idaho.

Any dispute arising out of these terms or any order will be brought exclusively in the state courts serving Madison County, Idaho, including the Small Claims Department of the Magistrate’s Division, and both parties consent to that jurisdiction and venue.

In any dispute arising out of these terms or any order, the prevailing party is entitled to recover its reasonable attorney fees and costs from the other party.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version in effect when you place your order governs that order. Changes are posted here with a new effective date.
